In 2017 we were asked to provide Paediatric First Aid to the staff at Broadcylst Primary School. We were required to be flexible in delivery as it needed to be after school hours. We therefore delivered the syllabus over 4 consecutive Monday eves. Consequently, it allowed a repour to develop between the trainer and the participants which would not normally occur over a two-day course. We believe this added to the fun for both the staff and trainer!

In 2018 three further staff attended the 3-day First Aid at Work course at Purple Balm’s training suite. Thus, the school is now covered legally, and meets the Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage regulations in covering its staff, pupils and visitors.

Broadcylst Primary have also received a new addition to the outside of their school; an automated external defibrillator (AED). Purple Balm teach AED instruction on all its first aid courses. This has meant that should the need ever arise to use the AED there will be plenty of people on site to assist and lead in its administration.
